Sarah Brooks

Sarah Brooks is a design leader and intrapreneur who uses mixed-methods research and service design approaches to help teams and organizations reach better outcomes. She has worked across enterprise, federal, non-profit, start-up, and hybrid organizations. Sarah is an IBM Distinguished Designer, Strategic Foresight, where she is researching and creating a practice in foresight and design for teams across IBM’s software, infrastructure, and consulting businesses. Most recently, she served as Chief Design Officer, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs where she was co-founder of the Veterans Experience Office, to improve service delivery to America’s Veterans. Previously, she led a Design for Social Innovation practice at Hot Studio in San Francisco, CA. She is also a writer, artist, and co-curator of the Rosenfeld Media Civic Design Conference.
